This week we farewelled our ELO year 12 students with a special ceremony. We celebrated their momentous achievement by looking back at some of their photos throughout the years and sharing some memorable stories. We will miss them in ELO and wish them all the best with their future endeavours. Congratulations! 

This Wednesday, our Year 10 Cafe Culture class turned an unexpected network outage into an impromptu cafe experience for staff. Despite technical challenges, the students served up lumpia, nachos, banoffee blondies, breakfast smash burgers, and scones, impressing everyone with their culinary skills and resilience.

Staff enjoyed the delightful surprise and appreciated the students' efforts. We commend the Year 10 Cafe Culture class for their resourcefulness and community spirit, proving that sometimes the best moments arise from unexpected challenges. We look forward to more of their culinary talents in the future.
 

The year 8 food tech students have been focusing on Seasonal Produce so far this term. They have been cooking an array of recipes with Spinach that the Agriculture classes have grown down the farm and harvested for them. Great job to all students involved!

On Wednesday 8/11,  Kristina Jenni Clonan connected with Year 9 students as part of Olympics Unleashed.  Olympics Unleashed connects athletes with schools across the country to inspire students to find and follow their passion and provide lessons in goal setting, overcoming challenges and developing resilience.

Kristina Jenni Clonan spoke about the Olympic journey and overcoming challenges to compete in their chosen sport at the highest level to help inspire the students at Murray Bridge High School to be the best they can be – whether that’s in school, at home, on the sporting field or with friends.

The 9 @ Work classes have continued their volunteering throughout semester 2. They returned to the Murray Bridge RSL earlier this term to continue their work on the restructure and design of the garden our semester 1 student's cleared in preparation for new plant life.

The class also made their way to the Murray Bridge Showgrounds to support the Wanderers Cricket Club at the end of term 3 to help with preparation for the upcoming season with general tidy up and up keep of the clubrooms and grounds.

Creative Courage Exhibition and The Butterfly Wall

An exhibition called "Creative Courage" is being held at Murray Bridge Regional Gallery, showcasing the artwork created by Year 9 & 10 Visual Art & Design students from Murray Bridge High School. The exhibition is focused on the theme of domestic and family violence, and the students were allowed to express their thoughts and emotions on this serious issue through the statement "What Does a Loving Community Look Like?"

The artwork they created is a powerful representation of their feelings and support towards this topic. The exhibition is open to the public from November 25th to January 26th.

The Butterfly Wall Project was inspired by the Place of Courage project, and the school's desire to make a meaningful contribution. Both the students and teaching staff were passionate about the cause. The project was created as a heartfelt response to the issue of domestic and family violence. Each butterfly on the wall holds significant meaning and conveys support for those affected by domestic violence. It was a successful project that brought the school community together to support a crucial cause. The Butterfly Wall can also be viewed in the Creative Courage Exhibition.

Kainggi is the Ngarrindjeri word for rainbow and our club celebrates the whole spectrum of students who attend our school. 
To celebrate the diversity we see every day, the Kainggi club hosted a bracelet making session. 
It gave the students a chance to collaborate with each other while sharing the stories behind their designs. 
These friendship bracelets are bright, colourful and reflect the personalities of our students.

Students from classes in Murray Bridge High School have been working hard to research, design, test and refine products for market day. There will be a wide variety of produce from Agriculture, Tech, Art/Design and Entrepreneurial learning areas including funky sunglasses and tasty bushtucker herbs. The produce marquee will be one of many amongst local artisans and creative small businesses. It's a perfect opportunity to get your festive shopping underway, enjoy the sunshine and show support for our talented students!
