Laptop Program 2018

Year 8 Students


Murray Bridge High School is committed to moving students forward in a 21st Century learning environment.  Therefore, we will be continuing our Laptop Lease/Purchase Program from the beginning of the 2018 school year. As we reduce computing suites around the school in 2018, it is critical to your child’s learning and success at Murray Bridge High School that they are provided with a device.

  • This device is also supplied with 3 Years of Accidental Damage cover with $100 (incl GST) excess per incident to a maximum of 3 claims for the life of the cover*.
  • The Lenovo Thinkpad 13’s total value is $1249.00 (incl GST).

Payment options:

  • $16.50 per fortnight for 3 years interest free + $61.00 residual fee
  • $396.00 per year for 3 years interest free + $61.00 residual fee
  • $1188.00 up front + $61.00 residual fee
  • Other payments by negotiation with Murray Bridge High School finance staff.

The residual fee is to cover the cost of software licensing on the device for the 3 year period. The residual can only be paid at the end of the 3 years, then the device will transfer ownership to the purchaser.

The forms you have signed to date are only to give Murray Bridge High School an indication of how many students will participate in the Laptop Program for 2018. Be aware that you will not secure a device until a payment plan is in place.

The Murray Bridge High School is now ready for you to arrange your 2018 payment plan. Please come into the Student Services Office as soon as possible to secure your device for 2018.

Please carefully consider the following conditions:

  1. If your child leaves Murray Bridge High School for any reason, full payment for the device will become due immediately.
  2. You will not be entitled to a refund if you change your mind or no longer want the device.
  3. Parents/caregivers should insure their devices for other situations, such as theft and negligent damage, under their own insurance policies.
  4. The school is not responsible for the theft of a device, nor is the school responsible for any damage done to the device.
  5. Warranty will be supported by the Murray Bridge High School IT Support Staff.
  6. It is the responsibility of the owner to restore the laptop back to factory defaults after the transfer of ownership.

All students must read sign the ICT and Cyber-Safety Use Agreement. Failure to complete the form will result in disconnection from the school’s network.

*Insurance policy is subject to change by the Insurance provider and their PDS. Information is current as of November 2017.
